Wah Nese Red Rock [“Princess Red Rock”] was an actress, singer and Indian rights activist who sang at the White House at two presidential inaugurations- in 1945 for Franklin D. Roosevelt and in 1949 for Harry S. Truman. Princess Red Rock sang professionally throughout the world and was a member of the St. Louis Opera Company and the San Francisco Light Opera Company. She also was featured in the 1936 ovie “Rosemarie” with Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald. Princess Red Rock, a member of the Napissing tribe of Canadian Indians and spent many years in Florida- active in Indian rights for the Seminoles. She died 1988 at age 74.
