BORSI, Giosue. COLLOQUI. Torino: Libreria Editrice Internazionale, . 24mo., printed wraps in the original glassine; 241 pages. First Edition. Borsi was an Italian poet and journalist who enlisted voluntarily as a second lieutenant in the Territorial Militia immediately when Italy entered the war in October, 1915. Borsi was sent to the Isonzo front where he was mortally wounded on November 10 while leading his platoon in an attack. His 54 Colloquies, of which the last 18 were written at the front, were published after his death. Signed by Diana Borsi, his mother, on the copyright page. There are short two passages from the book written on the title page in the same type of black ink as Diana's signature- but we cannot confirm they were penned by her. There are also some black ink notations in the book and another lengthy notation at the top of page 38. A pencil notation on the front endpaper (in Italian) states "Paris, February 917." Very Good condition (tiny hole on page 12 that does not affect any text). $350.00.
