Lengthy signed inscription from Archibald on the front pastedown: "If you would see The loves of Christmas live, Then with a Christmas heart Receive and give, If you would know The best the day can do & keep a Christmas heart The whole year through. Mrs. George Archibald." With another presentation on the front endpaper: "To Dorothy Mather, from her loving friend, Georgianna Palmer. Dec. 25, 1895." Archibald's maiden name was Anna Campbell Palmer, so the other presentation may be from a relative (sister?). A scarce book! 12mo., brown cloth stamped in gilt; 197 pages. Item #56682
