George Cearley Jr. This book is about the defunct California-based airline that operated between 1925 and 1987, when it merged with Delta Airlines. Less than a month after becoming an operating mail carrier for the federal government, Western began the first scheduled and sustained passenger service in the United States (May 23, 1926), on a route between Salt Lake City, Utah and Los Angeles. With the ink name stamp of Air Force veteran and air line pilot Arne A. Erickson inside the front cover, where he listed where he was employed as a pilot and the years. He flew for Western in 1967.
