CHATTERBOX 1908.
Boston: Dana Estes & Co., 1908. First Edition. A yearly anthology of the monthly Victorian-era magazine for young people. This appears to be a deluxe edition of the 1908 edition, in a terrific late Victorian-era hardcover, illustrated binding, all edges gilt, and in wonderful condition. Many Chatterboxes were issued in wraps or boards. Chatterbox was a weekly British paper of stories for children, published in the 19th and 20th centuries. It was also published as an annual for much of its run, in both the UK and the US. Chatterbox was founded in 1866 by John Erskine Clarke, who edited the paper until 1902. It ceased publication in 1955. An important Victorian-era publication. Profusely illustrated with color & black and white illustrations. Item #58375
