The author's first novel about a Korean War draftee who gets assigned to duty at a military stockage and his encounter with a brutal commander. Pearl also wrote "Our Man Flint," which was made into the classic 1960s action movie, starring James Coburn and Lee J.Cobb. Signed presentation from Pearl on the front endpaper, to movie director George Sherman: "Dear George, You read the manuscript three years ago- Here's the fimnal product. Best, Jack P." Sherman was a well-know director of mostly "B" movies in Hollywood. He directed dozens of actions movies, many being Westerns.
