Autograph Letter Signed: Congregationalist Boston

1882. Item #1048

DEXTER, Henry M. Autograph Letter Signed. Two pages on a folded sheet of "The Congregationalist" stationery, dated Sept. 16, 1882. "Dear Bro. Ward, You have set me a task which I cannot perform. I believe I have at hand the rude first draft of the paper while I mailed to you the full new draft night before last, but I cannot recall it to memory, and when I get home at 6:30 tonight- it will be too late to send it to Andover as you desire. I am sorry but I do not see how to get around the inevitable in this case. By the way, Prof. Parks name ought to be of the signers I shall say. Faithfully, H. M. Dexter. Dr. Ward." With a postscript at the top of the letterhead: "I asked him to mail copy to you in Andover." Dexter was a famous Congregationalist clergyman and editor of related magazines and newspapers. He taught theology at the Andover Theological Seminary. Very Good (tiny tear at fold). $45.00.

Price: $45.00
