LET'S TALK TURKEY: ADVENTURES AND RECIPES OF THE WHITE TURKEY INN

The Dietz Press, 1948. Item #1263

DIETZ, F. Meredith. LET'S TALK TURKEY. Adventures And Recipes Of The White Turkey Inn. Richmond, Virginia: The Dietz Press, [1948]. 8vo., brown cloth, stamped in gilt, in dust jacket. Limited Edition of 100 numbered copies, of which this is #53. Originally an old house outside Danbury, Connecticut, the White Turkey Inn was one of the first English-style tea houses in New England and was later purchased by Harry and Dorothy Davega in the 1930s. Recipes included in this book are from Charleston, South Carolina with contributions from Virginia chefs and New England pastry cooks- offering some of the oldest American favorites. Signed presentation on the limitation page: "With very loving birthday wishes from Florence. Harridot Davega. March 1949." Not quite sure if this presentation is by Dietz (the "F" may be for Florence) or from the Dietzs (Harridot being a combination of their names)- or both. Anyway, this limited edition is quite scarce and I have been unable to locate another copy. Very Good (covers bright; contents clean & tight); small nicks & few short tears d/j. $175.00.

Price: $175.00
