First edition, second printing- May, 1910. Mott's fourth novel with several stories set in Canadian prairie provinces. Mott [1881-1931]. A "millionarie reporter" scion to a New York City newspaper fortune, Mott found jornalism "far too dull." He ran off to China with actress Mrs. Frances Hewitt Bowne and spent the rest of his days boating and writing outdoor-life novels. Signed presentation from Mott on the front endpaper: "For/ Mrs. Burden, with the most sincere thoughts of the Author. March, 1912." This title, and particularly signed copies, are scarce!!
