CIARDI, John. Autograph Manuscript Signed. One page, on 8.5- by 11-inch white paper (few folds for mailing). In ink, seven stanzas of six lines each, entitled "Biography." One ink correction in second stanza, else a very neatly penned (probable fair copy?) manuscript, signed by Ciardi and dated July 25, 1969. "[First stanza]: What? Her uncle! Yes, of course,/ By marriage only. And a dear/ And rich. And madly generous./ But fifty, flabby, and too near,/ too fumblingly. Those moans! Those pants!/ No, not by any chance by chance."
