[Wright 3, 5425]. One of the few novels penned by Thayer, who is better-known for her books on Colorado and Pacific Coast wild flowers. Most plots in her few novels are set in Colorado but this title is based in the White Mountains and New Hampshire. All of Thayer's novels are scarce! Signed inscription by Thayer on a front blank page: "With the best wishes of the Author, Emma H. Thayer, Glenwood Springs, `The Colorado.' Sept 27th/'98." Very Good (little wear & small, faint stain on rear cover; some darkening spine with front cover nice & bright; shallow stain to the fore-edge of the first 20 or so pages of text). Rare! $750.00.
