FRIENDSHIP AND OTHER POEMS
Robert J. Shores, 1916. Item #2093
NADAL, B.H. FRIENDSHIP AND OTHER POEMS. NY: Robert J. Shores, 1916. 12mo., blue cloth, stamped in gilt; 60 pages. First Edition. Nadal was an occasional resident at author Upton Sinclair's Helicon Home Colony- an experimental community established in Englewood, New Jersey in 1906. The building burned down in 1907 and Nadal helped Sinclair save some of the residents- who jumped into a blanket held by the two men. Signed inscription from Nadal on the front endpaper: "Compliments of the Author, B.H. Nadal, Nat. Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park, N.Y." Also with a one-page autograph letter signed by Nadal laid in, on The National Arts Club stationery, no date but apparently to "Miss Wells"- with her name on a rather tattered envelope. The letter apparently deals with a play by Nadal ("Woodmites"?) that was taken by actor, playwright and producer Arnold Daly to a Mr. Tyler who "says only cost prevents his putting it on." He writes that Mr. DeKoven has offered to write the music for the production and continues about other aspects of the play and possible actors for roles. Very Good (bright covers with minor wear; contents clean & tight). $250.00.
Price: $250.00
