THE DEVIL'S NEST

The Torch Press, 1923. Item #2334

HARPER, H.H. THE DEVIL'S NEST. Etched Frontispiece by W.H.W. Bicknell. Cedar Rapids, IA: The Torch Press, [1923]. Small quarto, cream-colored boards with paper spine label, 312 pages; in original dust jacket, also depicting the frontispiece image. After issuing this work in a very small limitation for family and friends, Henry Howard Harper printed this second edition, limited to 100 numbered copies, of which this is #55. Signed presentation from Harper on the front endpaper: "To Mr. Perley H. Noyes, With compliments and personal regards, H.H. Harper." Perley Hayward Noyes was a Yale graduate (Class of 1906) and a lawyer with the White and Case law firm in New York City. He lived in Tenafly, New Jersey but I do not know what his association is with the author. Harper was not only a novelist but also a noted bibliophile. Very Good (minor wear with covers bright, contents clean & tight); nice (few nicks & short tears, little soil) d/j. $250.00.

Price: $250.00
