Nice signed presentation from O'Neill on the title page: "To Virginia Hampton, with all good wishes to you and Donald. Jan 22, 1986. Charles A.T. O'Neill." In 1963, Virginia Hampton, who lived in Doylestown, Pa., began a long career as an American Kennel Club judge. In 1989, she was recognized by the AKC as an All-Breed judge, being just one of 13 out of 2,500 judges in America. She judged as many as 55 shows a year in the United States and abroad.
