First Edition. An account of a post-World War One visit to England and France by a group of editors and publishers of American Industrial Papers. The visit was sponsored by the British Ministry of Information. Signed presentation from Swetland on a front blank page: "To Mr. Charles M. Manly, With my regards, H. M. Swetland." Believed to be inscribed to aviation pioneer Charles Matthews Manly (1876-1927), who designed and constructed a five-cylinder, water-cooled radial gasoline engine used in the Aerodrome prototype airplane, which crashed twice in 1903. With about 40 full-page photographic plates of notable persons (Winston Churhill, Lloyd George) and post-war military equipment and battlefields- one plate shows a WW1 combat airplane. Horace Monroe Swetland (1853-1924) was an American entrepreneur who founded several publishing houses, including "The American Architect." Very Good (contents clean & tight). $250.00.
