Ratti, president of the Argentine Writers Society, was one of four intellectuals who met with dictator Jorge Rafael Videla at a luncheon on May 19, 1976 to express, among other things, concern over the disappearance of writer Haroldo Conti. Another member at the luncheon was Jorge Luis Borges. Signed presentation from Ratti on the front endpaper, to Nicaraguan writer Juan Felipe Toruno, dated 1952.
