STEVENSON, Walter Barnes. VENTURES IN VERSE. [No Place: Self-published, circa 1915-1925?]. Small 8vo., red cloth, stamped in gilt; 174 pages. First Edition. Precious little is known about the author except that he lived in Cortland, NY and this is his only book of poetry. Publication dates noted for the book vary from 1915 to 1925, so I guess it's anybody's guess. Laid in is a 17-line typed poem entitled "June" and signed in ink at the conclusion by Walter Barnes Stevenson. Also laid in is a handwritten note by Stevenson on a blank index card to some newlyweds: "Dear young friends Ruth and LaVerne, Please accept this little book as a token of our enthusiastic approval of your union, and with sincere wishes for your happiness and success. Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Stevenson." Very Good (covers bright; contents clean & tight). Scarce! $150.00.
