Signed presentation from de Puy on a front blank page, to a close friend and business associate: "To Donald H. Clark-- the travelling publisher whose most important trip was from Des Moines to St. Louis in 1930. Clifford de Puy. August, 1967." The de Puy family had a close tie with the banking and insurance magazine publishing business, especially the Mid-Continental Banker which was eventually purchased by Clark, who was also a publisher.
