Signed presentation from Blake, in pencil, on the front endpaper, to Bishop Jackson Kemper, a famous American frontier missionery: "Bishop Kemper with the respects of The Author." With Kemper's ink signature on the front pastedown. Kemper was the Bishop of Wisconsin and was the founder of Nashotah House and Racine College. He promoted outreach to the Indians and urged translations of Scripture and services into Native American languages. Good (gilt bright but spine & edges rubbed, little cracking spine & one signature slightly pulled, modern bookplate of Lloyd dudley Rapp on the front pastedown). Scarce!! $250.00.
