THE DUMMY: A STORY OF THE PINE TREE STATE'S SEASIDE RAILROAD.

[No place: Printed by Wilson's Printers for The Authors, 1973]. Cover by Marcia Peverly. Illustrated with Photographs. First Edition, first printing. Signed by Peverly & McLin on the title page. With another lengthy signed presentation from McLin inside the front cover: “To Roland W. Goderberg- You would have been jolted right out of the Oriental Chair in Robinson Hall soon after your installation in the rails the ‘Dummy’ ran on has not been pulled up some years before that august event! At the brow of the hill, Wm. H. McLin. 26 Oct. ’73.” I believe Robinson Hall refers to the building at the University of Maine? An uncommon book, especially in the first printing. This title was reprinted again in 1983 & 1995 but with different covers. The dummy was a standard-gauge, steam-operated 3.24-mile railroad that operated for 43 years, from 1880 to 1923, running along the Maine coast. 8vo., pictorial tan wraps, stamped in black;48 pages.
