This copy also has a signed presentation by Northwood on the half-title page: “To dear Emi from her loving d’Arcy.” Also laid in are two copies of Northwood’s article “A Night on a Bird Island” (four pages each), from Bird Lore magazine, Jan.-Feb. 1940. One also has a similar signed presentation from Northwood: “For darling Emi from d’Arcy.” Northwood organized the Hawaiian Audubon Society and served as its president. He was also, for a short period, Executive Director of the New Jersey Audubon Society. He lived in Cape May Point, NJ at the time of his death in 1972. A unique copy of a scarce book!
