Paul Niehans [1882–1971] was a Swiss surgeon who was one of the developers of a cellular therapy, called the Niehans method or fresh cell therapy. His renown grew through his treatment of celebrities such as Pope Pius XII, King Ibn Saud, Konrad Adenauer and Charlie Chaplin. In fresh cell therapy, patients are injected with preparations derived from animal organs with the aim of achieving a revitalizing effect in their corresponding organs. The concept was developed by Niehans in the 1930s. Its therapeutic effect has never been proved scientifically. Clinique La Prairie is an award-winning, state-of-the-art health and wellness clinic located in Montreaux, Switzerland. Clinique La Prairie programs are based on a holistic approach that targets senoinflammation and boosts immunity using the four cornerstones of longevity: medical insight, nutrition, wellbeing and movement.
