Lido di Camaiore: Ospedale Versilia, 2009. Illustrated. First Edition. Signed presentation from Cosci, to one of his sculpture students in Peistranta, on the title page, dated May 10, 2011. With a limited-edition print (#31 of 800) laid in. A book on art works incorporated into the Versilia Hospital in Italy. A very scarce title, especially signed. Many of Romano Cosci’s [1939-2014] frescoes decorate churches throughout Italy. More impressive are still his sculptural works in marble and bronze. His statues, in marble and bronze, are found in many Italian cities; recent works include a portrait of Blessed Bartolo Longo in Pompeii (2000) or a bronze door with the motif of the eight martyr priests of Versilia (2001). His work, with equal parts of talent and poetry, make use of an extraordinary range of expressive media, passing through fresco, marble, bronze, terracotta, mosaic and every other kind of 2-D design. Small quarto: decorative gray boards in dust jacket; 66 pages. Item #57463
Fine in fine d/j. A very nice copy!
