Hungerford.” Inscribed to Al Rose, who was a railroad enthusiast and a well-known photographer and chronicler of western railroads from the mid 1930's to his passing in 1995. Rose was involved in the production of many railroad books and his photographs have been published in many railroad books and magazines. Rose was a long-time friend of Hungerford and shared the experience of the last run of the Slim Princess (thus the wonderful inscription).
