Davison, dated April 1925: “Dr. Harris gave the Missionary lectures for the year 1924-25 from March 27th to April 2= Colgate Seminary men appreciate the wonderful knowledge passed on to them as the result & fruitage of over 30 years of loving service among the Lord’s people, the Karens.” Also, with a few notes on the rear endpaper. “A Star in the East” is an account of American Baptist missions to the Karens of Burma, There are perhaps a thousand or more Karen villages in Burma, Harris’s father founded the Shwegyin Karen Mission and this book is dedicated to him.
