It appears Akers signed every copy of this title, which is a scarce book and I doubt many were produced. I have researched the two signed copies I have in stock and each signature varies slightly- they are not printed facsimilies. Akers was a Maine poet and journalist. She published early poems under the name Florence Percy. She was editor of the Portland Advertiser for many years. She was also a nurse and a government clerk during the civil war. 2 lines that she penned were popular during the civil war. "Backward, turn backward, O time in thy flight, Make me a child again, just for to-night" Small 8vo., decorative light-green cloth, deckled edges, stamped in gilt, black & red; 313 pages. Item #58007
