NY: McClure, Phillips & Company, 1904. First Edition. Signed presentation by Irwin on the front endpaper: "To Guy Nichols. This my first offense. Will Irwin." Nichols is related to Kate Nichols Trask, who wrote under the pseudonym of Katrina Trask and was the founder of the famous Yadoo artist colony in New York state. Also inscribed by John Sanborn Phillips on the same page: "Oh the time [illegible word] was." Phillips was the manager of the book department at McClure, Phillips and manager at the company's magazine. Good (some wear binding & spine darkened; contents clean & tight). Nichols' family bookplate on the front pastedown. Small 8vo., blue cloth, stamped in gilt.; 284 pages. Item #58497
