With the armorial bookplate of John Waldie (1781-1862), who was the administrator of Hendersyde Park at Kelso, Roxburghshire, Scotland. His journals and other papers are at the UCLA library. Susan Bogert Warner (1819-1885) was an influential American author known for her religion fiction and children’s literature, most notably her bestselling novel "The Wide, Wide World." Published in 1850 under the pen name Elizabeth Wetherell, this book became a bestseller and is considered one of the first American novels to sell over a million copies.
